Rehoboth Community Care provides services such as Food Bank, support for people with homelessness issues, ex- convicts and people recovering from alcohol and drug misuse.
Foodbank services are available from the church premises. It is open to everyone in Torry Community, Aberdeen and beyond.
People in Torry who are in need are encouraged to come in and pick up available food parcels.
We run this service with the support of organisations like CFINE, Costco, Gregg’s, etc.
We also provide chat help to those who need to speak with someone via phone call and one to one support for people in need supports.
Rehoboth care and food back services is an avenue to reach everyone with the love of God and through this project there has been tremendous impacts and testimonies. Items provided by the food bank include groceries, fridge/freezer foods, etc.
All through the Pandemic, the food bank service has been of high demand and has been beneficial to the users. Though there were constraints during the lockdown, Jesus House Torry through the Rehoboth care was able to consider other ways of delivering this services, like delivering to the homes of the isolated users and those in urgent needs. It has been highly commended by the community and has been of great help to everyone in the year 2020.
In 2021 we have continued to work in compliance with Government guidelines on lockdown restrictions due to the ongoing pandemic, food parcel pick up is available Thursdays: 11am – 12pm, while food parcel delivery is available on Mondays and Wednesdays between 11am and 3pm.
